A Welsh View: Nokia's Boring Me

Couldnt agree with you more. I have the Nokia N95 8GB, and its crap. The camera is nothing to write home about, the music player takes forever to get up and running, as for all the other bits and bobs, well they are no good for your average Joe. I hope to swap to the iPhone myself soon.
My previous camera was the Sony Ericsson 3.2MP with the slider on the back, brilliant camera and brilliant phone. If its a camera your after, I would go with the 5MP one of these.

I should add that the N95 is great for watching movies though!

Go with the iphone! Jailbreak it to experience its full potential, imo there's nothing better!

May want to look into an Android-based phone as an alternative to the iphone. The open source OS gives a lot of flexibility in customization both with and without hacking into it. I'm not much of a techie, but I hacked into my HTC Dream (the G1 or "google phone") pretty easily and it's opened up tons more options, like the ability to develop and test my own applications. BUT, the camera sucks (and it doesn't have a flash) so if pictures are a must I wouldn't recommend the google phone.

Still, methinks open source is where it's at if you want something that should keep you interested and you're sick of your phone becoming obsolete every 2 years. Maybe there's another Android-based phone with a good camera?

It still seems a bit early for the Google Phone and the OS aspect of it doesn't really appeal to me.

TBH rob, ive played with the Iphone, love the OS on it, but its rather limited, with camera features, as i know you like taking photos.

If you wan a phone similar but the same as the iphone with a very good camera, try out the LG Renoir, Ive got one and its damn good,

fully touch screen with the added bonus of Dolby for mobile (first device with it) making MP3s sound very good, Div-x and X-vid codecs already installed so if you rip your DVD's to Divx you have full movies on the go, Internet access via Wi-fi or the faster version of 3G which is HSDPA (up to 7mbps) 8 MP camera with high quality optics, x16 time digital zoom that works surprisingly well. panoramic shots, smile shots (phone wont take the picture unless the subject is smiling) blink shot (phone wont take the picture if the subject has its eyes closed) macro shots for close ups.

Auto focus or manual focus, touch focus (touch the screen in the area you want to focus on, and release your finger to take the photo.

Phone has too many decent features to mention,

Also don't pay attention to Megapixels, unless your planning on blowing your photos up into posters, 8 MP is way to many already. its a marketing ploy.

Ok the interface isn't as clean as the Iphone but i doubt you will even notice, it also has tilt sensors like the Iphone, and a Xenon flash to go with it , with red eye reduction if you want, and the video recording is excellent quality, with the ability to record at 3 speeds, 5fps, 30 fps and 120 fps and in different formats.

anyway, enough of my babbling, i sound like a sales person lol
